Invoke tracing at Snap Schedule startup to create a execution trace log

Issue:

In order to help resolve some technical issues, Business Management Systems may request that you send a trace log of your latest Snap Schedule session. This procedure is only necessary to help us resolve an issue that requires further investigation.

If you are asked to do so, you can use the following steps to create a trace log file that you can e-mail to us.

The method to start an application varies by operating system. Use the appropriate instructions below for your system:

Windows XP

  • Close Snap Schedule
  • Click on the “Start” menu in the Windows system tray
  • Select the “Run” menu
  • Enter or copy and paste the following (including the quotation marks on one single line):

    For Snap Schedule 2009: "C:Program FilesBusiness Management SystemsSnap Schedule 2009SnapSchedule.exe" /tracefile=c:SSTrace.log /tracelevel=3"
    For Snap Schedule 2010:"C:Program FilesBusiness Management SystemsSnap Schedule 2010SnapSchedule.exe" /tracefile=c:SSTrace.log /tracelevel=3"

  • Run Snap Schedule as desired and close the application
  • E-mail the trace file named “SSTrace.log” and located in C: to us at support@bmscentral.com.

32 bit Windows Vista OR 32 bit Windows 7

  • Close Snap Schedule
  • Click on the “Start” menu in the Windows system tray
  • Enter the following (including the quotation marks on one single line) into the “search” box:

  • For Snap Schedule 2009:


    "C:Program FilesBusiness Management SystemsSnap Schedule 2009SnapSchedule.exe" /tracefile=c:userspublicdocumentsSSTrace.log /tracelevel=3"



    For Snap Schedule 2010:


    "C:Program FilesBusiness Management SystemsSnap Schedule 2010SnapSchedule.exe" /tracefile=c:userspublicdocumentsSSTrace.log /tracelevel=3"

  • Run Snap Schedule as desired and close the application
  • E-mail the trace file named “SSTrace.log” and located in C:userspublicdocuments to us at support@bmscentral.com.

64 bit Windows Vista OR 64 bit Windows 7

  • Close Snap Schedule
  • Click on the “Start” menu in the Windows system tray
  • Enter the following (including the quotation marks on one single line) into the “search” box:

  • Run Snap Schedule as desired and close the application
