{"id":842,"date":"2013-01-17T19:27:03","date_gmt":"2013-01-17T19:27:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/snapschedul.web801.discountasp.net\/employee-scheduling-blog\/?p=842"},"modified":"2013-09-25T19:16:04","modified_gmt":"2013-09-25T19:16:04","slug":"snap-schedule-payroll-and-incentives-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bmscentral.com\/learn-employee-scheduling\/snap-schedule-payroll-and-incentives-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Snap Schedule Employee Scheduling Software &#8211; Payroll and Incentives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Use Snap Schedule employee scheduling software to plan your payroll and shift differential pay incentives, like on-call payments, overtime pay, and more.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/A6k9VIGMTqM\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>You can go to the Manage section and click on \u201cEmployees,\u201d for a list of your staff. \u00a0Double-click on an employee to set basic details, including their hourly wage.<\/p>\n<p>Then, click on \u201cSettings\u201d and go to the \u201cDefault Settings\u201d tab, to define your rules for overtime pay.\u00a0 Just tick the checkbox, and enter your threshold and your pay multiplier.\u00a0 When an employee works more than 8 hours in a day, perhaps they receive 1.5 times their regular rate for the additional hours.\u00a0 You can add more rules if you like. Snap Schedule provides a very flexible scheme to handle practically all types of overtime pay through the use of daily overtime rules and work period overtime rules.<\/p>\n<p>You can also set overtime rules for an entire pay period, from a week, to a month, to eight weeks.\u00a0 Just indicate when your pay period begins, and then set up your rules.\u00a0 Please note: any daily overtime hours will not be counted again for work period overtime.\u00a0 There\u2019s no need to pay two bonuses for the same hour of work.\u00a0 When you\u2019re done, click \u201cOK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Click on \u201cShift Premium Policies\u201d to set up special payments\u2014for instance, differential pay for working holidays and night shifts, for travel time, or for being on-call.\u00a0 Just click the link to create a new shift premium policy.<\/p>\n<p>Give your policy a unique name, and describe what it\u2019s for.\u00a0 Then, define your bonus: a fixed payment per shift, a fixed amount per hour, or a percentage of the employee\u2019s regular pay per hour.\u00a0 For example, I\u2019ll offer $10 plus 10% extra on top of the employee\u2019s regular pay for working the shift.<\/p>\n<p>Now, you can apply this premium to certain shifts\u2014for instance, the night shift.\u00a0 Or you can click \u201cApplicable Days,\u201d and then check off one or more days of the week, or select special holidays from the calendar and add them to your list.\u00a0 You can even offer a premium for any hours worked at a specific time on those days\u2014for instance, after 10pm on New Year\u2019s Eve.<\/p>\n<p>You can even set up \u201cOn Call Pay,\u201d and specify a flat rate, an hourly rate, or a percentage of regular pay for employees who are on call for a shift, but don\u2019t have to work.\u00a0 Go to the Schedule section and click on Calendar, Shift, or Daily, and then right-click on a cell and place an employee on call, and Snap Schedule will calculate this special rate for that shift, rather than the employee\u2019s usual pay.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, click on Details, and then on Configure, and you can choose to display the total cost of your payroll alongside your shift assignments, including regular and overtime pay, on-call pay, and even paid time off.\u00a0 Every time you assign an employee to a new shift, their total pay, and your total payroll, will be updated automatically so you know instantly if you are within budget.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for watching.\u00a0 To learn more, please visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bmscentral.com\/\">www.BMScentral.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Use Snap Schedule employee scheduling software to plan your payroll and shift differential pay incentives, like on-call payments, overtime pay, and more.
