What's new in Snap Schedule Premium 2013 Employee Scheduling Software

We've listened to you, our customers, and added many exciting new features and improvements to the 2011 Edition to help you get more done in fewer steps.

New Schedule View: Punch View

The Punch view presents shift assignments for each employee and the employee’s punch in/out times. You can view the information in a graphical format or in list forms. The graphical view is a representation of the timing and duration of employees’ in and out punches relative to their shift assignments. The list view presents three sortable lists for viewing pending in punches, pending out punches, and recorded punches. You can select the date, the shift and shift location to view using the current view date picker and the display filter.

On Snap Schedule Premium systems configured with the employee remote access add-on, authorized employees can punch in/out using an iPhone application and their in/out punches will be instantly shown on the Punch view. The Employee Count Graph at the bottom of this view shows the total number of employees working for each time block. From this view, you can edit an existing punch record or create a new one.

Improved Schedule Views

Schedule Outlook View

  • Added a Pending Time Off Requests tab to show a list of time off requests and allow you to view, edit, approve and reject the requests.
  • Added a Pending Open Shift Bids tab to show a list of employees who signed up for the open shifts and allow you to view, edit, and fill the open shifts.

Daily View by Employee

Added a feature to display employee time off requests and approval statuses on the schedule view. You also have the option to show or hide approved and rejected requests. Shift View

Show shift bidding and open shifts

Display open shifts on the schedule view and let you create, edit, manage and approve open shift bids. On Snap Schedule Premium systems configured with the employee remote access add-on, authorized employees can bid for open shifts using an iPhone application and their bids will be instantly shown on the schedule view for review and approval.

Calendar View

Employee Remote Access

Snap Schedule Premium systems equipped with the employee remote access add-on (sold separately) allow employees to remote access their schedules, request time off, bid on open shifts, punch in and out, update their availability to work, and view the employee directory via a native iPhone app. You can set up and enable/disable any of these features using the Employee Access form in Snap Schedule Premium.

Open Shifts and Shift Bidding

You can create open shifts that still need to be filled and have employees sign up (shift bidding) for those shifts to fill the required positions. You can use the Open Shift Details report to print and post the open shifts for employees to sign up. If your Snap Schedule Premium software is equipped with the employee remote access add-on (sold separately), employees can request the open shifts remotely and their request will be instantly shown on the Shift schedule view for review and approval.

Punch In/Out

Snap Schedule Premium systems equipped with the employee remote access add-on (sold separately), employees can punch in/out of their assigned shifts remotely and the punch records are instantly available on the Punch view. The punch data can be used to show the variances between planned and actual work hours and costs. This feature is also useful in the security and protection industry where monitoring of security guard check in/out at assigned posts is required.

Enhancements to Existing Reports

  • Added option to the Employee List report to display employee pictures.
  • Updated the report engine to improve report generation performance.
  • Provided a new option to open the exported data in the default application (Excel, Adobe Reader, etc.) immediately after the report has been exported.

Changes Made to Forms to Support New and Enhanced Features

Employee Form

  • Added Employee Portal Information section to the Contact Info tab to grant/deny employee remote access via mobile devices.
  • Added a new Location Code column in the Locations tab.

Shift Form

  • Added a new Shift Premium Policies tab to identify all applicable shift premium policies.

Application User Form

  • Added a Contact Info tab to the Application User formn.

Application Role Form

Added a privilege to grant an application role to:

  • Access Punch view
  • Newly added reports
  • View Employee Portal Settings
  • Add/Edit/Delete Employee Portal Settings
  • View Punch Reasons
  • Add/Edit/Delete Punch Reasons

Task Assigment Form

  • Added a textbox for task assignment notes. You can now attach a note of up to 128 characters to each task assignment. Task notes will now be displayed on the pertinent reports when they are present. You can also configure the Task View to display task notes on task assignments.

Shift Premium Form

  • Added a new tab, Applicable Shifts, to associate the shift premium policy to any number of shifts.
  • Added a new tab, Applicable Days, to specify the days of the week or specific dates and the start and end times when the shift premium pay will take effect.

Select an Employee for the Shift Form

  • Re-layout the Configure Employee Information Table to make it more compact.

Configure Details Form

  • Added an option to the Schedule View dropdown menu to allow users to configure what to be displayed on the Punch view.
  • Added the option to show or hide approved and rejected time off request on schedule views.

Other Enhancements

  • Snap Schedule Premium 2013 software now supports all editions of on-premise or Web-hosted Microsoft SQL Server (from 2005 to 2012) as well as Microsoft SQL Azure 2012 update.
  • Extended the SDK to allow access to detailed employee work hours, time off schedules, and pay data.
  • Added contact information for application users.
  • Added a new placeholder for customizing how employee schedule will be shown in e-mail messages.

  • Removed the option to import data from Microsoft Office Accounting software because this product was discontinued by Microsoft.
